**This is an 18-month Contract Opportunity to cover a Maternity leave.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for working with management and employees to provide a full range of Human Resources services. By actively driving programs and processes in the areas of employee relations, training, talent and performance management, leadership development, and compensation, the HR generalist contributes significantly to the Company’s business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner in the effective execution of company strategies to meet business goals.
  • May develop and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources.
  • Resolving minor employee issues and conflict resolution.
  • Administers the benefits & group RRSP program for employees.
  • Responsible for claims management of Short Term & Long-Term Disability.
  • Advise employees and management personnel on the interpretation of Company policies, programs and procedures.
  • Carries out administrative work related to human resource functions and maintains related records.
  • Accountable for full-cycle recruiting and on-boarding of employees.
  • Back-up support for Dayforce timekeeping and payroll administration.
  • Coordinates all site recognition and social events.
  • Coordinates the semi-annual performance management program.
  • Help to facilitate the semi-annual performance appraisal process and work with Managers on reviews, development plans and performance improvement plans as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist capacity.
  • Working knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation, occupational health and safety regulations, and other applicable employment laws.
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, leave administration, and policy interpretation.
  • Strong conflict resolution, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.Experience in workplace investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
